Allow Me Introduce Myself…

Hello! Welcome!

I am Sandy Ploy; a California native that, for the last 20+ years has been living in Milwaukee. I am a graphic designer, creative director, set stylist, creative strategist, project managing, get-stuff-done kind of gal. My hat rack runneth over. Me and my two roommates - a human and a cat - live in West Allis and spend most of our time laughing. I work. A lot. I have worked for publishers, photo studios, corporate retail, restaurants, bands, schools, museums. You name it, I've probably done it .

I am silly, sassy, excitable, loving, sarcastic, inspired, caring, tough, sensitive and generally a little wacky. But all of those attributes are what gives me the brain power to pull together abstract ideas into reality. A perfect example was in the early 2000's. I was known around Milwaukee as the Milwaukee Cupcake Queen. I was a blogger in the early heyday of food blogging and turned my blog into an online competition known as IronCupcake: Earth -- we had 500+ bakers all over the world who competed for prizes that I sought out from cupcake relevant manufacturers and retailers. I turned that online competition into a monthly competition between local bakers that started as a few folks in a bar and at its high point, 5 years later; 3000 attendees, 20 thousand cupcakes, celebrity judge Duff Goldman and more than $25K earned for the MSOE radio station. Ultimately, we were joined by 14 other cities in the US, UK and Canada that started satellites of IronCupcake, running similar competitions and helping local charities as well.

I am an avid foodie and find great enjoyment in the kitchen or on the trade show floor following food trends and integrating them into my home-cook life. I used to believe that meeting rockstars was unobtainable, so I started to focus on celebrity chefs. I have more than 40 photos in my kitchen with me and the likes of Eric Ripert, Graham Elliot, Fabio Viviani, Jaques Pepin and SO many more.

In 2014, I was invited to a meet and greet with an unknown cover band, who were, in reality, several members of the Foo Fighters, my absolute favorite. Wait...I really CAN meet rock stars! From that moment on, my love of rock and roll blossomed into my most recent adventures; which includes traveling more than 80K miles to see them live, receiving one of 50 silver keys sent to their most involved fans on social media and meeting each of them at least once.

Six years ago, I merged my marketing skills and my passion for music into a role as the Manager/Web Master/PR Cheerleader for rock artist, Tommy Odetto. I was responsible for spearheading a GoFundMe campaign, that garnered more than 15K to support a dream opportunity to record in a historic L.A. studio! This story is told with more detail on his GoFundMe campaign page at GoFundMe.com/Tommy606. Since working together, Tommy has opened for many notable acts including Cheap Trick, Foreigner, Marshall Tucker Band, Robert Cray, Chevy Metal, Robin Trower, Ace Frehley, Uriah Heep, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and many others. We were also able to secure a hard-to-get slot on the Saturday line-up of the 2018 Bottlerock Festival in Napa Valley. 2019 found him playing the epic Harley-Davidson Owners Rally in Milwaukee. And 2020 was the year he relocated to Milwaukee and since the return of normal life, has been working like crazy.

In the social universe, I was named one of 2010’s Milwaukee’s 100 Coolest People by OnMilwaukee.com; I graced the cover of Milwaukee Magazine; I was brought to New York on three separate occasions as a blogging authority. In 2016, I photoshopped myself into a picture with Law and Order:SVU stars Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay; it went viral on Buzzfeed and Someecards.com. It really is an incredible life. Even when I am not trying, I seem to have been gifted the ability to "find the glitter" in the most unsuspecting of places. I don't believe that is a fluke. I believe it is because once I get my mind set on something, I usually make it happen.

What's in store for the next chapter? Perhaps you are a part of it. Let's find out?!
